Forensic Evaluation & Expert Witness Testimony

Dr. Hupka has specialized in forensic psychology for over 25 years, working in the interface between psychology and the law.  He served for twenty years on the California Mentally Disordered Offender Evaluation Panel, where he has evaluated over 1000 incarcerated offenders to assess their mental illness, degree of dangerousness, parole suitability, mental status at the time of the crime, and treatment needs. He served for 18 years on the California Sexually Violent Predator Evaluation Panel where he conducted approximately 800 evaluations of sex offenders throughout the California, assessing their degree of sexual deviance, risk of reoffense, and treatment needs. He has been privileged to testify as an Expert Witness in approximately 100 cases in Superior Courts throughout California, working with both prosecution and defense. He has provided psychological evaluations assessing treatment and supervision needs of mentally ill criminal offenders who have paroled into the Conditional Release Program in the  community.  He also provides assessments of fitness for duty with impaired professionals .
